CNB Photography was formed as a partnership in 2005 by Branin Johnson and Courtenay Nearburg, former classmates and friends in photography school. They found they worked amazingly well as a team, with complementary strengths and interests in photography that bring a highly disciplined technical approach (Branin) together with a sensitive spontaneity (Courtenay). Branin’s engineering background coupled with Courtenay’s journalism training allow them as CNB to create carefully composed and executed images that sparkle with life and humanity.

 

Branin Johnson was pursuing electrical engineering but had a lifelong love affair with photography. His first love has always been landscape and environments. His exacting personality demands beautifully crafted and graphically pleasing imagery, an approach that gives his architectural and fine art works breathtaking clarity and precision. Courtenay Nearburg completed her bachelor’s in Journalism at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. Her interest in photography began in high school, blossoming into a passion in her twenties as she became more and more involved in the arts, working in public relations and in fine art galleries. She took her first photo class in 2001 and has been a dedicated “people” photographer ever since, coaxing out the character of her subjects to create portraits both stylish and graceful. Her skills include fashion, editorial portraiture, advertising and lifestyle imagery.
